Vampire Academy, the Movie

I don't even know where to begin.,
we YA readers, have been hurt so many times... we get promises, we demand so little (and by little I mean a lot), yet no one delivers, I rarely watch a movie based on a book and say ( wow that's much better than the book) because lets face it, when we love a book, we love it not only for the story line, but for the MANY details that a movie can't cover in 90 minutes. I'm sure it's hard to convert a book to a movie without losing much of the essence which makes the book so loved. Saying that, there are so many elements that makes a movie good, sadly Vampire Academy FAILED in so many of them.

I'm not a movie critic, I'm not even a movie's fan, but even I can see how bad the acting was. I don't know if there's an unwritten rules somewhere in the motions business that dictates that  actors in Young-Adult Book Adaptations Movies have to have this over the top dramatic tendency to over act everything, VA movie was no exception to this rule, nothing felt real, not the fight scene, not the friendship between Rose and Lissa, not the chemistry between Dmitri and Rose, and lets face it, that chemistry is 90% why VA book fans wanted a movie.

Another fail was, that while the movie tried to keep the original story line, the result was events so cramped that I felt the movie was rushed and not at all smooth, Rose is talking to Lissa, put a dead cat in the middle. It was rather annoying. which made the mystery so obvious I doubt it fooled anyone.

I didn't enjoy the movie as much as I enjoyed the book, maybe it's just me, but it seemed designed for teens. so this one might be on my age :)
